Santana Guerrero Temporo arrested in killing of Diosmary Mejia in Lawrence

Diosmary Mejia, a 21-year-old mother of two, was found dead last week in a basement apartment in Lawrence. Her boyfriend, Santana Guerrero Temporo, was arrested days later in Texas on a fugitive from justice charge. According to authorities, he had “been wanted for the murder” of Mejia on Christmas Day.

The DA’s office previously announced that Lawrence police found an individual unresponsive in a basement apartment on Salem Street Tuesday morning after receiving a request for a wellness check. At the time, officials described the death as an “apparent homicide” but did not provide any further details.

In interviews with both WCVB and NBC10, family member Nelly Perez identified Mejia as the person found dead. Perez told the outlets that Mejia is from the Dominican Republic and has two children.
